[1] About Myself. My plansfor the future

Hello. My name is Snezhana. I am a student of Izmail University, Faculty of Foreign Languages. I also teach Italian and Romanian. I work on Skype. I am forty-eight years old; I am married, I have an adult daughter and her name is Julia. … She lives in Kharkov with my parents. My husband’s name is Dmitry. We got married when we were nineteen years old. I am a cheerful, purposeful and active person. Sometimes I can be sad, but it doesn’t last long. I have three girlfriends. They are completely different, but I am interested in each of them. I was always interested in understanding what a person was talking about, so I learned sign language. I dream of opening a foreign language school, and I also want to learn German and French. Studying the language helps me to learn not only what this or that word means, but also to better understand the culture, mentality and habits of people living in this country.

[2] Family life

Hello! My name is Snezhana. I am forty-eight years old. I’m married. My husband’s name is Dmitry and he works as an electrician. My daughter’s name is Julia. She is twenty-seven years old and works as a teacher in an elementary school in the city of Kharkov. My parents are pensioners and they also live in the city of Kharkov. I got married at nineteen. My daughter persuaded me to enter our university. At first, I was very worried because I didn’t know how students and teachers would react to me, but everyone treated me with great understanding and the students supported me very much. My parents are pensioners and they also live in the city of Kharkov. I have a younger brother. He works as a programmer at a firm. I really miss them.

[3] A fair face may hide a foul heart

You cannot think that if a person is beautiful, then his character is also very good, kind and friendly. An ugly person can have an honest and kind heart. The Quasimodo, which is described in the novel, Hugo was ugly, but knew how to honestly love and be a devoted person. He suffered greatly. The bride lieutenant’s fiancé, whose name was Fleur de Liz, was beautiful, rich, intelligent, but her heart was not kind. But an ugly, person also cannot always be with a good heart. And a handsome and ugly person can be a villain. I have three girlfriends. They are all very beautiful, smart and successful.  Therefore, when I met a person, I do not look at the face, or at the clothes. Appearances can be very deceiving. I have never met beautiful people with a bad heart in my life. And I’m very happy about that.

[4] Leisure outdoor and indoor activities I prefer

I really like to walk and breathe fresh air. Walking helps me to escape from problems and just take a break from work and lessons. My husband and I, or my friend and I go to a cafe, drink a cup of coffee and admire nature. Sometimes we are just silent, but I like it when each of us can think and dream. I like to travel. In the summer we go to the sea and such trips make me very happy. If I am relaxing at home, I love to sleep, or watch an interesting movie. I like detective stories, science fiction and adventure. Sometimes I write poetry. Most often, these poems are about nature, about its beauty, and diversity. Sometimes I write funny poems to friends or my husband. I wrote fairy tales to my younger brother. Sometimes I listen to music. I like rock music, so I listen to it more often when I’m doing something. This genre of music helps to work, not rest. I don’t really like calm music. When I listen to her, I feel sleepy.

[5] Youth problems and their solutions

Among the problems that young people face, I would name dissatisfaction with their appearance, the problem of fathers and children, the problem of drug addiction, the problem of poverty, as well as the desire to seem “like” among classmates. Friendship is very important for teenagers. They want to have reliable friends not only to share good news, but also problems. But teenagers easily break up with friends who let them down. Friendship is very important for teenagers. They want to have reliable friends not only to share good news, but also problems. But teenagers easily break up with friends who let them down.

Family problems like parents’ divorcing a death in the family or violence, in the home tell on teenagers. They have all possible arguments with their parents. Now and then the arguments come down to conflicts between the teenager’s desire to be independent of restrictions and parents’ right to control them. Young people are encouraged to leave the home by parents unable or unwilling to provide for them, and soon they find themselves with a bad crowd in the street. Only in one thousand nine hundred ninety-six around twelve thousand teenagers were taken into Ukrainian police custody for vagrancy and begging. Different crimes committed by teenagers are influenced by the specifics of their age, physical and psychological development, as well as their social and legal immaturity. The major threats for street children apart from criminal activity are drug and tobacco addiction, toxicomania, alcoholism and prostitution.

Young people are also deeply concerned with material problems. They are afraid of poverty and therefore postpone marriage until a later age. Some say they lose hope in education because they cannot afford it. Quite a few students, especially those living separately from their parents, face the problem of financing themselves during their studies. Trying to find a way out, they work to earn a living, but this becomes a stumbling block on the path to successful studies and passing exams.

In Kiev, at weekends there is the so-called trust bus where one can talk to a psychologist or a doctor. Special courses for the young are conducted on prevention of AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases.

Centers for social and psychological rehabilitation are organized at educational establishments for teenagers as well as for their parents. Special seminars are held by teachers and social workers for youth on the issues of sex education and the preparation of young people for married life. There are also youth-oriented programmers and talk shows on TV, problem pages in youth magazines and special Internet sites that give the young people an opportunity to share their problems, find possible solutions and build up a positive view of life. The work requires further development and practical support.

[6] Describe the person who greatly influenced your life

My grandmother greatly influenced my life. She lived in Odessa during the Great Patriotic War, during the famine in one thousand nine hundred thirty-three, her entire family died, and the whole village in which she lived. She was left alone and was later raised by her aunt. My grandmother was a very tough person, she rarely praised me. She raised me until I was eighteen. She taught me to be brave, not to be afraid of anyone or anything, not to complain and achieve my goals. She alone knew how to support me, and I remember how she told me: “Snezhana, if you fail, then who will succeed. Go ahead and don’t turn around!” When I was sick, she silently sat by my bed and held my hand. She brought me hot tea with raspberry jam. I drank it in small sips and knew that everything would be fine. And in the morning, I woke up vigorous and fresh. All diseases and problems left me. I was happy. I miss my grandmother very much. I loved her very much. She replaced my mom.

[7] Problems of drug abuse

The problem of drug use is widespread throughout the world. Young people especially have this problem. Young people will try drugs in pursuit of the thrill. Someone wants to get away from problems, someone wants to feel more confident, and someone is just interested. It seems to them that the world is getting better, they feel omnipotent and important. But when the drugs wear off, something terrible begins. A person’s whole-body hurts, a good mood passes, and severe depression begins. Parents, unfortunately, very late begin to understand that something is wrong with the teenager. Today there are many social programs that are aimed at helping teenagers get rid of drug addiction. There are a lot of special sites on the Internet, magazines and newspapers that consider this problem and explain not only parents, but also their children, how to understand that your child has a drug addiction and to whom a teenager should turn for help.

The worst thing is that drug use among today’s youth has become commonplace, one might even say a tradition. It seems that in today’s adolescents, not using drugs is considered indecent and not modern.

Drugs are sold quite openly today, and even spread over the Internet. And medicines containing narcotic substances can be bought in pharmacies without a prescription.

The teenager usually takes the first dose of the drug with friends, at a disco, in a club and even at school. And he does it solely out of curiosity, having heard enough about the drug “high”. But a young man cannot understand that this euphoria is fleeting, and drug addicts use drugs for just the opposite purposes – not for the sake of momentary pleasure, but to return to a state normal for a healthy person.

[8] Your hobbies and interests

I’m busy all the time and I don’t have time for hobbies. So, my biggest hobby is sleep. I study at two universities, I am married, and when I have the opportunity to sleep I do it with great joy. Learning is always difficult, and when you are an adult it is even more difficult. But seriously speaking about my hobby, I can say that I write poetry. Sometimes, when I am asked to write an essay in a Romanian lesson, I like to write about something unusual. My Romanian teacher jokes and says that I am a poet. Earlier, she thought that I find compositions on the Internet, but I explained to her that someone can draw, someone can sing, someone can dance, and I write about something. When my brother was little, I wrote fairy tales to him. He remembers sometimes, and I am very pleased. I love to write poetry about nature, especially about autumn. Autumn always has a calming effect on me, I admire its beautiful colors. I like to watch how the foliage gradually falls from the trees; fog falls on the streets in the morning. The city is changing. I like this. Autumn inspires me.

[9] Students’ leisure activities

To fill their free time, some students with creative natures and artistic talents often express themselves is painting, drawing, singing, playing musical instruments, dancing or trying their hand at writing, photography or similar creative hobbies. They join amateur dramatic societies choirs or organize their own pop groups or bands.

Socializing with friends in free time, inviting them for a drink or a meal at home or having an evening out in the most usual pastime with students. Sharing a meal with friends is a chance to chat and discuss the day ‘s events. At weekends they have a day out in the forest and have picnics, or go to discos, theatres and exhibitions. A lot of free time is spent in the home where the most popular leisure activities are watching TV, reading books, newspapers and magazines, doing puzzles and crosswords and having parties. Playing cards and board games also helps people unwind after a busy day.

Sports and games attract many people who enjoy competition, physical activity and healthful exercise. Travelling, camping, mountain climbing, and hiking attract a large number of enthusiasts who can’t live without movement and need some change every day of their life. Adventure sports are becoming an increasingly popular way of spending leisure time.

[10] The family I live in

My family is not very big. My husband, my daughter and me. My husband’s name is Dmitry. He works as an electrician. My daughter’s name is Julia. She lives in Kharkov and works as a teacher in an elementary school. My parents are pensioners and they also live in Kharkov. My mom loves to grow flowers and she has a very beautiful garden. I don’t like gardening, although I live in a private house. My husband loves gardening and growing vegetables and fruits. My brother is 38 years old and he works as a programmer in a company. I teach Italian and Romanian languages on Skype and I really love my job. I have prepared many students for admission to Italian universities. I have been married for 28 years and I love my husband very much. He is a very good friend, I met him when I was 15 years old.

[11] What high-risk sport will you choose and why?

I am very afraid of all sports that involve risk, but if I chose, I would choose a mountain bike.

This sport requires endurance, core strength and balance, bike handling skills, and self-reliance. Advanced riders pursue both steep technical descents and high incline climbs. In the case of freeride, downhill, and dirt jumping, aerial maneuvers are performed off both natural features and specially constructed jumps and ramps.

Also, I really like the accessories that are used in this kind of variety and different types of bicycles. Glasses with little or no difference from those used in other cycling sports, help protect against debris while on the trail. Shoes generally have gripping soles similar to those of hiking boots for scrambling over un-ridable obstacles, unlike the smooth-bottomed shoes used in road cycling. Clothing is chosen for comfort during physical exertion in the backcountry, and its ability to withstand falls. Hydration systems are important for mountain bikers in the backcountry, ranging from simple water bottles to water bags with drinking tubes in lightweight backpacks known as a hydration pack. GPS systems are sometimes added to the handlebars and are used to monitor progress on trails.

The ability to ride a mountain bike requires good physical fitness, as well as the ability to organize yourself and be able to always help a friend Mountain biking is a sport of riding bicycles off-road, often over rough terrain, usually using specially designed mountain bikes. Mountain bikes share similarities with other bikes but incorporate features designed to enhance durability and performance in rough terrain, such as air or coil-sprung shocks used as suspension, larger and wider wheels and tyres, stronger frame materials, and mechanically or hydraulically actuated disc brakes.

[12] Computer games as an obsession

I really do not like computers, and I also don’t like to play them, if it were not for my studies, I would not open the computer, and there are no games in the phone either.  But there are people who really like to play games and for some reason this is a kind of consolation and calmness for them, of course there are pluses, but it seems to me that this is not at all the case, because computer games cause great dependence on which sometimes they themselves cannot cope  and harm to health, because instead of going out for a walk or doing something useful, a person who is addicted to games will spend all his free time in the computer again.  Such a person is no longer interested in the world around him, for him that reality is much brighter, but in this way a person can lag behind his peers and he will not have topics to communicate with them, although in many games you can often find propaganda for smoking, drugs, people continue to sit  on such sites, and mental health suffers.  I believe that you can afford to play games, but in moderation so as not to cause addiction, because this is bad for the human body.

[13] Your best friend’s appearance and character

I want to tell about me friend. Her name is Anna, she is 38 years old, our husbands met, and then we became friends. She is short straight hair and she has blonde short straight hair. She has brown eyes and a small snub nose. She has a round face and a sweet and pleasant smile. She has an hourglass figure and small foot. Anna loves to laugh; she is very emotional and rarely sad. She is also ambitious, practical and at the same time very romantic person. She has a daughter, Lera. She’s eight years old. She goes to elementary school. She and her daughter are very similar. Anna works as a hairdresser. She follows fashion, and stylish haircuts and constantly attends training courses Anna is a very unusual person, because she is always positive and sees good even in a very difficult situation.

[14] Family problems as a typical problem of teenagers

One of the common problems of adolescents is family problems. When I was a teenager, I also argued with my parents. I wanted independence and freedom. I wanted to do what I want and not report to my parents. Teens had problems with smoking and drinking, but very rarely did teens take drugs. Unfortunately, now everything is different. And I am very glad that now there are such organizations as children of Ukraine and the trust bus that help children return to normal life and solve their problems.

[15] Appearances can be deceiving

[16] Keeping pets as a hobby

While all people love pets, it is not always easy to have this hobby. Someone is holding a dog, someone is a cat, someone is a fish or a hamster. But they all need care and attention. And also, every pet wants attention and affection. I have two dogs, two cats and two cats. Dogs are constantly jealous and fighting for my attention, so I have to pet each of them. We also have an aquarium with fish. My husband is very fond of looking after the fish and plants in the aquarium and I can see how time consuming it is. Also, taking care of pet’s costs money. For example, you can’t just give a dog or a cat just pasta. They need meat or fish. And the aquarium needs its own equipment, and the fish need food. The plants in the aquarium need fertilizer. But the pets are very grateful. A satisfied cat will purr tenderly in your lap, a dog will run and wag its tail merrily, and fish and plants will delight you with bright colors. And I think that the effort and money spent is worth the joy that I get.

[17] Do you prefer to spend your time alone or with friends?

I do not know how other students relax. I will tell you how I rest. I don’t like being alone. I like to spend my free time with my husband or friends. Sometimes I like to sleep in my free time. Then on a day off I like to walk the streets of our city. My husband and I go to a cafe to have a cup of coffee, relax, unwind and enjoy nature. My husband and I love very much to come to the sea station, drink coffee in a small cafe, admire the beautiful nature and listen to music. I also like to watch some interesting movie. My husband and I love to watch some interesting film together, and then discuss it. Students spend their free time in different ways, but to be honest, there is very little of it. Many also meet each other in a cafe to discuss the latest news or just walk around the city. But mostly, even free time is spent studying. There is a lot of homework to do, and since I study at two universities, this is twice as much. But if I had more free time, I would like to read an interesting book and reflect on what I have read. I also love listening to music. I mostly like rock music. It’s all.

[18]  Reasons for taking up high-risk sports

It is indisputable that activities such as skiing, climbing, mountain biking, etc. are all somewhat extreme sports that involve an element of risk. According to Psychology Today, some researchers define risk-taking as engaging in any activity with an uncertain outcome. What makes these sports extreme is the fact that the outcomes can be pretty dire and can inflict severe injury or even death. Within the context of these sports, people are assuming more risks and today, adventure tourism is a multimillion-dollar industry that attracts a plethora of people to engage in these activities.

Some recent studies suggest that taking on high degrees of risk is inherent in the construction of the brain and is linked to arousal and pleasure mechanisms. Due to this, thrill-seeking may be the same as an addiction that affects 1-in-5 people, mostly young males, and declines with age.

Some scientists believe that excessive risk-taking is connected to biology and people’s brains craving stimuli.

Some scientists believe that society makes us more risky. In the age of seatbelts, guardrails, laws, rules, regulations, etc., there is a sense in western civilizations that the sense of survival or life has been dulled and scientists have been trying to grapple with the Risk Paradox; the safer we make life, the more risks we take. In other words, people who get easily bored with their lives take on more risk to liven it up. A good ski example would be the more safety precautions (yellow jackets, mandatory safety bars, roped off ski runs) we take, the more people push the envelope, ski recklessly, and try to get thrills.

Some scientists believe genetics has something to do with people assuming excessive risk.

Lastly, scientists believe there is a learned cultural element to people taking risk.

While this is still very much a frontier scientific topic (especially in extreme sports), the causes of people taking excessive risk could possibly be boiled down to a mixture of nature vs nurture. However, one thing is true, risk is a personal preference. People can assume risk is various different ways that don’t have to inflict bodily harm. People can use risk to grow and learn about themselves.

[19] Problems that you have faced in your first year at university

My life at University was not easy at first because I had to adjust to same new changes in my life. The biggest problem I faced was cooking for myself. Although it will be more accurate also for my husband.

What was new in this situation? Was that I not only went to university, but also had to do my homework. Pluse I had my awn students whom i taught Italian. And also, I entered to study at the preparatory department at the Galati University.

Was I sad? No. Was I worried? Little. Was I angry? Yes, very angry. In order to adapt to the new environment, I had to write a clear schedule of the daily routine and follow it. But there was still not enough time. Then I asked my husband loves to cook and his father worked as a cook on a ship all his life. But when I switched to the second year and he became wery busy and everything repeated. Now a woman comes to us to help prepared food a whole week so that we are not distracted from our affairs. From this whole situation, I learned that before you do something, you need to think about the consequences, when you plan to do something. Is should be done even if your decisions lead to good goals. Every decision has its consequence. I cannot say if my decision was successful as i have to work harder to pay the houseteeping servis. But one thing, pleases me there is food in my fridge now, I don’t eat fast food, and my husband doesn’t go hungry.

[20] Bullying as a social problem

Bullying is a social phenomenon that is characteristic of predominantly organized children’s groups, primarily schools.

Bullying, from English, is oppression, bullying, discrimination. In a broader sense, it is a special type of violence when one person (or group) physically attacks, or threatens another, weaker physically and mentally person (or a group of people).

In general, according to the authors, in various cultures, from 5 to 75% of schoolchildren around the world have experience of victims of traditional bullying during their schooling

And as numerous foreign studies show, today the problem is relevant throughout the world.

Teachers often may not stop bullying, guided by ideas about the “benefits” of bullying: if children learn to defend themselves, they will not be bullied, or bullying helps to internalize social norms, or that children become victims only if they avoid other children.

Following the movement of communication to the Internet, cyberbullying appeared – a new and rapidly spreading form of bullying that uses the capabilities of the Internet (primarily anonymity and a huge number of users) for aggressive persecution of a person. Cyberbullying causes no less strong anxiety in children than bullying in the “real” world, but the peculiarity of processes on the Internet is that information about bullying does not disappear, it is almost impossible to delete it.

When I was a teenager, bullying already existed. But this was not a frequent occurrence. Today you can hear about this terrible phenomenon on TV or read on the Internet. In my opinion, bullying can be dealt with by talking to your children and teaching them how to protect themselves from harassment. Also, psychologists and teachers should work with children in school to find the problem as early as possible. School bullying is viewed in the modern world as a serious social and pedagogical problem.
